Rufus Sewell

Sewell trained at the Central School of Speech and Drama in London before building a substantial British stage and television career through the early 1990s, gradually moving into international film work.

He played amnesiac protagonist John Murdoch in Dark City with an unknowable, haunted quality perfectly suited to a character who cannot be sure of his own innocence. A British stage-trained actor with a growing film career at the time, he carried much of the film's central mystery on his performance.

He has continued a prolific career across film and television since, moving comfortably between period drama, genre film and prestige television.
