Richard Benjamin

Benjamin trained at Northwestern University before building a career in television and film comedy through the 1960s, developing an everyman likability that made him a natural fit for a story requiring genuine audience identification.

He played Peter Martin, the Westworld tourist whose vacation turns into a survival ordeal — a performance grounded enough to make the park's collapse feel genuinely frightening. Already known for comic leading-man roles, he brought a relatable, everyday vulnerability to the character.

He later moved into directing his own films, building a substantial career behind the camera as well as in front of it.
