Nick Stahl

Stahl began acting as a child in the early 1990s, building a reputation through independent and studio dramas as a serious, often troubled young performer well before he was cast in one of science fiction's most mythologized roles.

He took over John Connor as a directionless twenty-something hiding from his own destiny — a quieter, more haunted take on the role than the franchise had tried before. Already an established young actor from films like Disturbing Behavior and In the Bedroom, he approached the role as a study in trauma and avoidance rather than heroism.

He deliberately underplayed Connor's mythologized status from the earlier films, and it remains one of his most widely seen performances despite a subsequent career that has moved largely into smaller independent projects.
