A Colombian actress cast as Dani Ramos, she is the first Latin American lead in the franchise and Dark Fate's answer to the original Sarah Connor. She was cast in a role deliberately written to mirror the ordinary-person-thrust-into-destiny arc of Sarah Connor from the original 1984 film.
Her casting was widely noted as a deliberate broadening of the franchise's central perspective, and the role introduced her to a much larger international audience than her earlier Colombian work had reached.
