Melody Anderson

Anderson began her acting career in Canadian television before moving to Hollywood in the late 1970s, quickly landing her breakout film role opposite a similarly inexperienced leading man.

She played Dale Arden, Flash Gordon's quick-thinking love interest and co-adventurer across the warring kingdoms of Mongo. A Canadian actress relatively early in her career at the time, she went on to a substantial career in American television throughout the 1980s.

That later work included a lead role in the series Manimal, and the Flash Gordon role remains one of her most widely recognized film performances.
