Mark Hamill

Hamill grew up as a military child moving frequently around the world before settling into acting through television guest roles and daytime soap operas in the early 1970s, a modest career that gave little hint of the fame about to arrive.

The farm boy who looked at two suns and made a generation want to leave home was later, just as remarkably, an equally legendary voice actor. He was a relatively unknown television actor when cast as Luke Skywalker, and a serious car accident shortly after the first film's release altered his appearance enough that later films had to account for it within the story itself.

He went on to become one of animation and video games' most celebrated voice performers, most famously as the Joker in numerous Batman productions, building an entirely separate, equally beloved career that runs parallel to his defining live-action role.
