Lorne Balfe

Balfe trained and worked extensively at Hans Zimmer's Remote Control Productions scoring house for years, absorbing that studio's maximalist, percussion-driven house style before establishing an independent composing career of his own.

A Hans Zimmer protégé, he scored Genisys with the franchise's biggest orchestral forces yet, weaving Brad Fiedel's classic theme through modern action scoring. His Genisys score deliberately reintroduced Fiedel's original 1984 motifs at key emotional moments to connect the reboot back to the franchise's origins.

He has gone on to score a wide range of major studio action and adventure franchises since, building a reputation as one of the more prolific composers to emerge from the Remote Control scoring pipeline.
