Benjamin Wallfisch
Composer
b. 1979 · UK
Wallfisch trained as a conductor and composer at the Royal College of Music, coming from a family of accomplished classical musicians, before building a career scoring British and American film.
He co-composed Blade Runner 2049's monolithic score with Hans Zimmer, joining the project on short notice after the original scoring plans changed late in production. A British composer and conductor with a classical training background, he worked closely alongside Zimmer under significant time pressure.
He has since become an increasingly in-demand composer for major studio productions in his own right, building on the visibility that high-profile collaboration provided.
