Anton Yelchin

Yelchin was born in Russia to professional figure skaters who emigrated to the United States, and began acting as a child, quickly establishing himself as one of Hollywood's most sought-after young character actors through a string of acclaimed independent and studio roles.

He played a teenage Kyle Reese with a scrappy, wounded charm that made the character's later self-sacrifice land emotionally. He had already built a substantial career as a respected young character actor, including a prominent role in the rebooted Star Trek franchise around the same period.

Yelchin died in a 2016 accident at just 27, cutting short one of his generation's most promising careers; his death was widely mourned across the industry as the loss of one of his generation's most versatile and hardworking young performers.
