Angelina Jolie

Jolie began acting as a child alongside her father before building an independent career through the 1990s, winning an Academy Award in her early twenties well before she became one of the world's biggest box-office draws.

She appears in a brief but memorable turn as eyepatch-wearing squadron commander Franky Cook in Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow. Already an Academy Award winner for Girl, Interrupted, she took on a small supporting role in an unusually experimental production.

She went on to become one of the biggest box-office draws in the world through action franchises in the years that followed.
