Alan Arkin

Arkin began his career as a folk musician before training in improvisational comedy with Chicago's Second City troupe, a background that shaped the loose, naturalistic warmth of his later character work.

The veteran character actor brought gruff warmth to Peevy, Cliff Secord's mechanic and the closest thing The Rocketeer has to a conscience. Already an Academy Award nominee multiple times over by the time of this role, he was known for finding humane warmth in supporting characters.

He later won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for Little Miss Sunshine, capping a career that spanned drama, comedy and everything between across more than five decades.
