Debbie Harry

Harry worked as a waitress, Playboy bunny and backup singer in New York before co-founding the band Blondie in the mid-1970s, quickly becoming one of the defining faces of the New York punk and new wave scene.

Blondie's iconic frontwoman gave her most memorable screen performance as radio psychiatrist Nicki Brand, whose appetite for sensation leads her straight into the Videodrome signal. Already an established rock star at the height of Blondie's commercial success, she took on a demanding dramatic role in an unusually dark, transgressive film.

It remains her most acclaimed screen performance, and she has continued to balance an ongoing music career with periodic acting roles in the decades since.
