Already an Academy Award-nominated actor from films like The Talented Mr. Ripley, he took on one of the earliest major roles built around fully virtual production, requiring him to react to effects and environments that did not yet exist during filming. He has continued a prolific career across blockbuster and prestige film in the years since.
