Played investigative reporter Polly Perkins, sparring with Jude Law's Sky Captain across a Manhattan under attack from giant robots that existed only as digital backgrounds during filming. Already an Academy Award winner for Shakespeare in Love, she took on one of the earliest major studio roles shot almost entirely against blue screen with no physical sets at all. She has continued acting alongside building a separate career as an entrepreneur in later years.
